Inside Sales Agents (ISA)

An inside sales agent works the leads you already paid for. Most teams do not have a lead problem — they have a follow-up problem, and it is expensive.

What your ISA does

  • Calls new leads within minutes, not hours — speed to lead is the single largest lever in conversion
  • Works the long tail: leads from three, six and twelve months ago that were never dead, only early
  • Runs the follow-up sequence across call, text and email until there is an answer either way
  • Qualifies against your criteria: timeline, motivation, financing, location
  • Books appointments into your calendar and confirms them so they hold
  • Keeps the CRM honest, so your pipeline reflects reality
  • Reactivates past clients and works the database for repeat business

Where the money actually is

Most teams buy leads and work the newest ones until something else comes up. Two things follow:

Speed collapses. A lead called in five minutes converts at a multiple of one called in an hour. Nobody is arguing about this; almost nobody staffs for it.

The database is never worked. The leads from eight months ago are the ones now ready to transact. They are also the cheapest leads you will ever have, because you already paid for them.

An ISA exists to do both consistently, on days when you are busy.

How to choose an inside sales agent

Ask for the appointment show rate, not the booking count

Booked appointments are easy to inflate. Ask what proportion actually happened, and what they changed to improve it.

Test the first objection, not the opener

The job begins at “I’m not looking right now,” which is what most people say before they have processed the question.

Check CRM discipline in the interview

If every call does not get logged, you do not have a pipeline — you have their memory.

Ask what disqualifies a lead

An ISA who books everyone is worse than one who books fewer. You want judgement, not enthusiasm.

What it costs

Inside sales agents are hired on a straight hourly rate, part-time or full-time. Many teams start with one covering the daily call block and expand once the appointment flow proves out. See the cost guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will they work my timezone?

Yes. Lead calling has to happen when leads answer, which for US teams means night shift in the Philippines. That is normal and we staff for it.

Can they use my dialler and scripts?

Yes. They work your scripts, your dialler and your CRM, under your process.

How many calls a day?

Depends on the dialler, the list and the role. Ask any provider quoting a headline dial count what the connect and conversion rates were — volume without conversation is not the product.

What about compliance?

DNC scrubbing, permitted calling windows and consent rules vary by state and country. Your assistant follows your compliance process; the obligations are yours.

Is this the same as an appointment setter?

Overlapping. An appointment setter books meetings from a list; an ISA owns lead conversion end to end, including nurture and database reactivation.
