Web design & development

Web design & development

At iFOVS BSS we develop custom websites that are both visually appealing and highly functional — whether you need a simple business site or a more complex platform.

The sample is the site

Judge us on the page you are standing on

Most web design pages show you screenshots of work you cannot inspect. You can inspect this one. Open the developer tools, run it through PageSpeed Insights, resize the window, turn on a screen reader. Everything below is measurable right now.

  • 1 It loads in about a second. First view is roughly 200 KB of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images — a fraction of a typical business site.
  • 2 Your phone does not download desktop images. Every photograph is generated at several sizes and the browser picks the smallest one that still looks sharp.
  • 3 Colour contrast is checked, not guessed. Every text and background pair on this site was measured against the WCAG AA standard before it shipped.
  • 4 It works without a mouse. Menus, tabs and the photo viewer all respond to the keyboard, and every control is labelled for screen readers.
  • 5 Search engines are given structure, not guesswork. Semantic headings, meta and social share tags, business schema, a sitemap and clean URLs.
  • 6 The people who own it can edit it. It runs on WordPress, so text, photos, posts and contact details change from the admin without touching code.

One design, built to hold together on every screen

What we build in as standard

Four things most cheap websites skip

None of these are extras. They are the difference between a website that exists and a website that works.

Website performance figures on a laptop screen

Speed

Compressed, correctly sized images, deferred scripts and proper caching. Google ranks on loading speed, and visitors leave sites that make them wait.

Two people reviewing a document together

Accessibility

Readable contrast, keyboard navigation and labelled controls. It widens who can buy from you, and in several of the markets our clients sell into it is a legal expectation.

A business meeting in progress

Findability

Semantic structure, page titles and descriptions, social share cards, business schema and a sitemap submitted to Google — set up before launch, not sold to you afterwards.

A secure server room

Ownership

The domain, the hosting account and the files are registered in your name and handed to you. If you ever want to move the site elsewhere, you can — without asking us.

How it works

Four steps, and you see it before it is built

Nobody should approve a website they have not seen. You sign off the design before a single line of code is written, so there are no surprises at the end.

  • 01 Discovery We learn your business, your customers and what the site has to achieve. From you: your logo, any existing text and photos, and who you compete with.
  • 02 Design You see the real layout, colours and typography as a working page. From you: one consolidated round of feedback.
  • 03 Build & revise We build it responsive, fast and accessible, then apply your revisions. From you: final text and photographs.
  • 04 Launch & hand over Domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console go live — then we walk you through editing it yourself.

Website packages

Three ways to start

Each tier builds on the one before it. Pick by what you need the site to do, not by how many pages you think you want — we will tell you honestly if a smaller package would serve you better.

Before you ask

The questions worth asking any web developer

Including the awkward ones. If another provider will not answer these plainly, that tells you something.

Who owns the website when it is finished?

You do — completely. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is yours, and the files and content belong to you.

Some providers register the domain to themselves, which quietly makes leaving impossible. We do not, and you should check that with anyone you hire.

Can I edit the site myself, or do I have to come back to you?

You can edit it yourself. We build on WordPress, so text, photographs, blog posts, prices and contact details are all editable from a normal admin screen without touching code.

Every project includes a walkthrough at handover. Structural changes — a new page type, a new feature — are where you would come back to us, and that is by choice rather than by lock-in.

How long does it take?

The build is rarely the slow part. What decides the timeline is how quickly the text and photographs arrive, and how quickly feedback comes back at the design stage.

We give you a written timeline with your quote, and we will tell you at the start which parts depend on you. A project where the content is ready moves considerably faster than one where it is still being written.

I already have a website. Can you work with it?

Usually, yes. We will look at what you have and tell you honestly whether it is worth improving or worth replacing — those are genuinely different answers, and the cheaper one is not always the right one.

If we rebuild, we keep your existing page addresses wherever we can, so the links people have already shared and the pages Google has already indexed do not turn into dead ends.

What happens after launch?

Every package includes a support period after go-live for fixes and questions — the length depends on the package, and it is stated in your quote.

After that you can carry on independently, or arrange ongoing maintenance with us. Both are fine. What you will not get is a site you cannot touch without paying someone.

Do I have to host with you?

No. We set up hosting because most clients would rather not deal with it, but the account is in your name and you can move it whenever you like.

If you already have hosting you are happy with, we will build there instead.

Will it actually show up on Google?

The technical groundwork is done before launch: page titles and descriptions, semantic structure, a sitemap submitted to Google Search Console, business schema and fast loading. That is what gets you indexed correctly and eligible to rank.

What we will not do is promise a position. Anyone guaranteeing you the top result for a competitive term is either misleading you or planning something that will get your site penalised. Ranking comes from that groundwork plus content and time.

What do you need from me to start?

Your logo, whatever text you already have, any photographs you want used, and a short conversation about what the site is for and who it is talking to.

If you do not have text or photographs yet, say so at the start — that changes the plan, and it is much better handled at the beginning than discovered halfway through.
